July 9. 2007: Prafulla Pande Named MI-SBTDC Technology Business Consultant. The Michigan Small Business & Technology Development CenterTM (MI-SBTDCTM) enhances Michigan's economic well-being by providing counseling, training, research and advocacy for new ventures, existing small businesses and innovative technology companies.

In an announcement on July 20, 2007 Carol Lopucki, State Director for MI Small Business Technology Development Center, said “Please join me in welcoming our 10th Tech Consultant, Prafulla Pande, to the Tech Team... His engineering and manufacturing background and expertise round out our team beautifully Praf is actually already "one of us" ... I first had opportunity to meet Prafulla when Governor Granholm in 2002 came to GVSU and recognized Michigan SBDC as "acquiring the T." Praf worked in that early stage of our work with our own Martin Dober, with his company.” “This is a great opportunity for me to help the budding entrepreneurs in Michigan translate their ideas into businesses that can create jobs for our State” says Prafulla. He adds “Coaching people to create successful businesses has been my passion for years and now working as a consultant for MI-SBTDC adds yet another dimension to it.” In this role Prafulla will work with entrepreneurs as well as MI-SBTDC partners (such as Kettering University, Tech Town, Automation Alley, Next Energy, and others) to help entrepreneurs launch their technology ideas and products as businesses and help the State of Michigan create jobs. With offices statewide, the MI-SBTDC positively impacts the economy by strengthening existing companies, creating new jobs, retaining existing jobs, and assisting companies in defining their path to success. The MI-SBTDC Tech Team is funded by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) through the 21st Century Jobs Fund to support Michigan's hi-tech entrepreneurial companies and help the State's transition to an Innovation based economy.
